Review: Saga Volume 1 by Brian K. Vaughan (Writer), Fiona Staples (Illustrator)

Summary from Goodreads:
When two soldiers from opposite sides of a never-ending galactic war fall in love, they risk everything to bring a fragile new life into a dangerous old universe.

From New York Times bestselling writer Brian K. Vaughan (Y: The Last Man, Ex Machina) and critically acclaimed artist Fiona Staples (Mystery Society, North 40), Saga is the sweeping tale of one young family fighting to find their place in the worlds. Fantasy and science fiction are wed like never before in this sexy, subversive drama for adults.

This specially priced volume collects the first six issues of the smash-hit series The Onion A.V. Club calls "the emotional epic Hollywood wishes it could make."

Collects Saga issues #1-6

My Review:

First off this comic is for 18+ because it has sexual content, violence, and nudity, but if you can look past those things it is such a great graphic novel. There could have been less sexual content but that's just my opinion.

Both the art and the writing were done perfectly and it makes you want to continue reading and sad when you finish it and do not have the second one and third one. I plan on putting the next two on hold at the library after I finish writing this review. :)

Saga is filled with a whole lot of action and twists throughout the six issues that are in the first volume, and the end has the best twist.

I recommend this graphic novel to people who appreciate the beautiful art and who like alien star-crossed lovers.

My Rating:

Five Out of Five Stars
